Bill & Ed's Excellent Adventure...Day 15...Wednesday, June 29, 2011...Prince Edward Island

Our drive today will not be long, but we still want to get an early start. We skip coffee and concentrate instead on taking down and packing up the tent, putting away our lighting and sound stuff, and hitching up the camper.
By 8:00AM, we're on the road...stopping for coffee just outside Alma. It's a beautiful drive down along the New Brunswick coast. PEI is connected to New Brunswick by an eight mile-long bridge (perfect for my bridge phobia). The fare is $50.00(cdn), but you only pay on your way out.
Garmin has not done a particularly good job of mapping PEI, so our route to our campground is somewhat "circuitous". Still...we're at Stanhope campground around 11:30AM...and...there's plenty of room. So...we set about putting up the tent and otherwise preparing our camp. There's no WiFi at the campground, and we're behind on the blog....plus, we're hungry...so we head over to the Stanhope Resort for lunch and Internet access.
Fate can be a wonderful thing, and that's how I felt in meeting April, our bartender at the resort. April and I were both born on April 12 between 10:00 and 10:30 in the morning. It was interesting to find that we shared many of the same traits, etc. we both love wine, cooking travel, etc. It was as if all my good traits, and none of the bad, had been put in another person. All that I can say is that she was a remarkable person...attractive, intelligent, personable...wow!
Ed's opting for soup and a small sandwich for lunch...I'm having a burger along with a glass of very good California Cab from McManis. We should be heading back to camp but, instead, we spend more time with April...lingering late into the afternoon over good wine and even better conversation.
On the way back to camp, find a small seafood market for my daily lobster. Ed cooks up a flank steak that we've marinated in some bottled Mojo...some fried potatoes...lobster...butter...a bottle of Conundrum white wine.
It has been a wonderful day...all the more so thanks to April.
