A Quick Post from Ninilchik

Paul, Hunter and I are just finishing up lunch after a successful morning of "clamming" for razor clams on the beach in Ninilchik on the Kenai Peninsula. We left Anchorage last night and had a great drive down here with lots of great scenery (photos coming with next post).
Last night, we stayed in a rustic cabin that can best be described as...well...very "rustic". We were up early this morning, picked up our fishing licenses, and headed for the beach with our clam guns, clam shovel, and a bucket. It was hard work, but we got our limit of 40 clams in about two hours. After lunch, we're going back to visit "Nayak" and "Margey", who we have nicknamed the "voodoo clam cleaning ladies". For a bottle of white zin, they're going to show us how to clean our clams and let us use their cleaning table and water hose.
After that, we're on our way to Homer to camp out on the Homer spit...where we will dine like "kings" tonight on linguine with white clam sauce and garlic bread baked in the dutch oven...life is good...very good.

More later (including cool photos)...Ok, not later...I couldn't wait...so here are some photos!
