Camping Out West...Day 58...Friday, August 13, 2010...On to Reno

It's only 100 miles to Reno, so this morning, I sleep in, take a long shower, and stop for breakfast before setting off.
I'm on the road for only 15 minutes or so before the "climb" starts. For 40 miles, it's almost all uphill, and the Escape is really "huffing and puffing". The "summit" is Donner Pass, where they have a nice little restaurant...nothing fancy, just "finger food".
Then, I'm heading downhill into Nevada. Tom meets me on the outskirts of town, and we head to a local hotel/casino, the Peppermill, for lunch. I have an excellent "Crab Louis" salad washed down with a few glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. After heading over to Tom's office for awhile, we get to his house and settle in.
Several glasses of Stoli vodka later, we decide to order a pizza for dinner. We spend a few hours talking and joking about all of the good times that we have had together. But, thanks to Mr. Stoli, it's an early night.
